This is a young lady that I know only slightly but is from our neck o the woods in South West Scotland

Very talented and a wonderful and clever cover of a Judie Tzuke song.

    .

Is that the old ship of Zion I see

It's hull was bent and battered
From the storms of life I could see
Waves were rough but that old ship kept sailing
Is that the old ship of Zion I see

At the stern of the ship was the captain
I could hear as he called out my name
Get on board It's the old ship of Zion
It will never pass this way again

    ........... .

I’m a jazz fan from way back. This weekend it’s the Waterloo Jazz festival, certainly not a big deal by anyone’s reckoning, but popular in my neck of the woods. Headliner is Emilie-Clair Barlow, a Toronto area born jazz artist, recognized in country/internationally.

Don’t forget Diana Krall and Michael Buble are Canadian and continue to promote the genre.

Those two are a wee bit too middle of the road for my liking exile. Diana Reeves on the other hand...
