Must admit I think it is absolutely ridiculous letting Prem 'B' teams into it. Surely the Premier League is soaking up enough of the money without trampling on the lower league clubs. For most of them it is their only chance of a big day out and that has probably gone now with the new structure.
Although in fairness the 'BIG' clubs Man City, Man Utd, Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea, Liverpool have declined to take part.

Image though, if you will, a Saints A vs Pompey final.

The last two premier league champions have entered.

Pompey fans are talking of boycotting the whole idea of Prem 'B' team games, so doubt they would be up for your suggested final.
But imagine if you will, playing that final and losing it. You would never ever ever live it down. Best avoided I think.

And what satisfaction is there for you in progressing past Charlton, Colchester and Crawley. Absolute waste of time.

Reserve sides. U-21's. That sort of thing.
