Bury your head in the sand all you like but that conversation you're quoting would be between rUK and EU. Scotland won't be involved.

So you spent 2 years saying iScotland wouldn't be allowed into the EU and you've flipped-flopped in about 5 minutes as it suits you

I firmly believe iScotland won't be allowed in the EU for many reasons, one being the deficit will be too high to meet entry criteria.

This is a separate issue in that the SNP are saying Scotland would be better in the EU when clearly they wouldn't be.

So you were just taking a hypothetical scenario which will never happen and calling it a fact because you're a....?

I'm taking the SNP's proposal/scenario and highlighting the holes in it.

    1. IScotland doesn't meet deficit criteria.
    2. If they for some reason did manage to get in they would have to abide by whatever trading deal the EU had in place for trading with rUK.

The SNP have flip flopped so many times surely even the most ardent nationalist must now realise the economic arguments for independence are pretty much dead in the water.

That depends on what you think he is stating - but let's go through exactly what it is he is saying, since I have a spare five minutes...
    1. Scotland''s trade with the rUK is bigger than that of the EU (it is also bigger than the EU and rest of the world combined)
This is true. So what? Are the English going to blockade Scotland's ports again as they did in order to force us to join their 'union'?
    2. EU Trade deals are done from Brussels
Again, so what? Why should this be seen as disadvantageous?
    3. Scotland will incur losses as a result of this.
    This is conjecture, not fact
    4. An independent Scotland will be better off outside the EU.
Again, conjecture, and unsupported by fact.

So tell me, what is it in this man's statement - this fiction writer - that you are hanging your hat on?

I'll probably take the opinion of the ex-Chancellor of the Exchequer over yours on that last point, if you don't mind. I also don't think iScotland has to worry about a deal with rumpUK, who are getting pied all over the globe right now personally would prefer Scotland to be fully independent, no UK, no EU.
