Actually, Alf, isn't that true for about 10 or 12 teams in the PL? If you look down the list, you have to think that "survival" will be the first concern for all of the following: Bournemouth, Burnley, Crystal Palace, Everton, Hull, Middlesbrough, Stoke, Sunderland, Swansea, Watford, WBA, West Ham?
OK - a few of those should be comfortably mid-table, but look at Newcastle and Villa.
The recipe for survival is quite simple: a point per game will do it.

Those sides have an intention of spending money. Which you simply have to do. If not it will be relegation for both Hulland Burnley.

West Ham wont be even considering relegation, more likely hoping to push on and surprise the top four .

Yes - I'd expect West Ham to be the surprise package too, but it's hard to see anyone breaking into the top four (Leicester-style) again. I wonder where Leicester themselves will finish this season.

Fabulous optimism Alf. Cant possibly see us scaling the lofty heights of 15th place,as under Lambert. Trying to be unreasonably hopeful,Ill go for 21st place as well.

What's happened to the Venkys ? They seem to have disappeared off the face of the Earth..

    Sadly not alf
still creaming off of player sales can see them disappearing completely once all saleable assets are gone.

I suppose their hope is that the academy keeps turning a profit with good players to sell on ad infinitum.

If they are so obsessed with making money out of football it begs the question why they sacked Gary Bowyer ,who in spite of mediocre
results on the field, had a rare talent in buying ans selling players for smaller figures.
