    Ross MacCormack

    Word on the "other site" suggest that we are due a 5% cut of MacCormack's fee under the solidarity "ruling". If so that would net us about £120k. Not bad.

    If true great news,if so you would think the club would be pleased to make it public

    Not really, I doubt they'd want to tell anyone we're negotiating with we've got another wad to spend unless they have to.

    Solidarity payments only due for cross-border transfers, it appears. So nowt for this one.

    Why would you possibly due anything for McCormack. He left you 8 years ago and Villa is the fourth club he has played for since he left you!!!!

    Doesn't matter, FIFA solidarity payments are payable indefinitely, to every club who developed the player up to age 23. But only when a transfer between different football associations occurs, which it didn't in this case.

    Don't think they are payable indefinitely.
    Article 20 RSTP is entitled “Training compensation” and provides as follows:

    “Training compensation shall be paid to a player’s training club(s): (1) when a player signs his first contract as a professional, and (2) each time a professional is transferred until the end of the season of his 23rd birthday. The obligation to pay training compensation arises whether the transfer takes place during or at the end of the player’s contract. The provisions concerning training compensation are set out in Annexe 4 of these regulations.”

    I think "transferred until the end of the season of his 23rd birthday" gives it away.

    That's training compensation, not solidarity payments, which are different things.

    "By contrast, solidarity payments will only be payable if a player is transferred for a fee, between clubs belonging to different national associations, prior to the expiry of his employment contract;
    Furthermore, such transfers (see (iv) above) occurring after the season of a player’s 23rd birthday will continue to engage the solidarity payments regime;"
