It's up to Russia now to try and get back into this. The keeper was left stranded after Vida's effort was deflected past the keeper.

Fernandes with the equaliser for Russia, but static defending by Croatia as the free-kick came into the danger area.

Hopefully the 120 mins+ and the penalties will take it's toll on whoever England face in the semi-finals.

How poor have the first and third Russia penalties been? The second Croatia penalty wasn't much better! Well done Rakitic and Croatia!

In all honesty we should have nothing to fear from Croatia in the semi final. They struggled to beat a poor Russian side that appeared to play kick and rush football. Their Manager seemed to rule by fear, not good for team moral.

1-0 France, Umtiti header, a powerful header that gave Courtois no chance. It's been an entertaining game so far with both Mbappe and Hazard causing the opposition plenty of problems. Lloris has been on top form so far in my opinion with a top draw save in the first half.

One thing France aren't doing it trying to sit on their lead, they are going for it.

It will take a good performance for whoever faces France in the final. Mbappe is something else and it's hard to believe he is only nine****, but if you're good enough, age doesn't matter.

Without wishing to be unpatriotic or pre-empting the result of tonight's match, I'd be very surprised if anyone other than France wins the World Cup in this competition.

They look the real deal don't they, and last nights game probably should've been the final? I think we might well win tonight but beating France in the final is unlikely, having said that.......

A great start and what a free-kick from Trippier, 1-0. Come on England!
