The keeper is fair enough but do we need yet another midfielder with Accrington connections? He would have to be good to oust any of Satdee's midfield starters and we have so much cover in that department. Seems an odd one.

Seems to me that the squad is far too big now to keep everyone happy. Players who have signed this season will presumably expect to play, especially if they have dropped down a division., also those that did well last season will expect to keep their place. There may be a few knocking on Mr Cook's door in a month or two. There appears to be a bit of croneyism with some of the signings and their previous playing history. Wonder if the wage bill has gone through the roof with all of these extra contracts.. the financial side is always a worry with our recent past still fresh in the mind. It would seem a shame to blow some of the hard earned money from season ticket income etc on yet more bench warmers.

Agreed Kitey. This time last season PC was going on about the squad being too big and that he was going to slim it. He promptly increased it to over 30 players. It's natural a manager would want as many players as possible, especially with our abysmal injury record, but it has to be quality over quantity or else it can be, as you have said, counterproductive and a waste of money.

We certainly will have plenty to pick from, for the 3 Junk Cup games as I call them. Happy to chip in with some "fine" money if required for picking a so called under strength team.

Well, hopefully, we don't have an under strength side to put out. Such is the depth of the squad that it could be argued that Saturdays team wasn't the strongest.

My point was questioning the 1 month contract for them. If we are still looking at them they will need to play....so perhaps they will both play tonight.
Regarding under strength teams,I am not sure the nippers are on a par with the seniors.
