    Formations

    Mr Pearson in his post game interview made some weird statements regarding Derby's formations. The gist of it was that call it 442, 4411, 433 or anything you like, with the players we had the formations were fairly fluid and indistinguishable.
    This reminded me of 'Arry telling a new non English speaking player coming on as sub to "run around a bit".

    Is this what Derby players at told to do? No wonder they look lost!

    As one pundit said on Match of the Day once in reply to a manager stating that the system was flexible depending on how the game was progressing - 'in other words they have'nt got a clue what they're supposed to be doing'!!

    NP says {I para-phrase} you have to win in different ways in the Championship;

    So why isn't he trying different ways?

    Why not try the diamond, with players like Hughes, and Russell and Martin starting?
    I know it's early days BUT we have yet to see a glimmer of the kind of performance that this team is capable of...maybe he's just not inspiring the players enough..? Maybe his dour, authoritarian approach is producing a dour response...I do so hope I'm wrong.

    Deja vu...what a difference a goal makes...still very early days but being three points off the top seems so much better than two points and no goals after three games. Hopefully it'll create some confidence for Saturday but a leader and a goal scorer still sound like top requirements.

    It's about the right players in the right positions Mr Pearson...it's that simple.
