On a different note, yesterday was really disappointing. A little cup run could have brought in some needed cash. I suppose we have the cliche of being able to concentrate on the league. God, we need to win on Sat.
Jed came on for a couple of minutes Saturday, a last desperate throw of the dice but it didn't change the score. They lost 2.3. I was so disappointed also yesterday, not losing but the way we lost. It was dire in the 1st half, 2nd half was better but again we gave away such a soft late goal. Foorde kept coming and punching, he stopped for that one and so was caught out in no mans land scrambling back as the looped header sailed over him. He'd spilled one earlier which Burgess got away, Foorde's form has dipped and he isn't the only one. I expect those players missing yesterday for different reasons will be back Saturday. The News keeps banging on about our big squad but for me there isn't that much quality out of the natural starting eleven. After recent weeks I have to question the quality of the starting eleven too. Saturday is a massive game for PFC and Cook I would suggest. I will say in the last 3 seasons 5 of our 6 Div 2 matches with Mansfield have ended all square, the 3 at Fp 1.1, 1.1 and 0.0.

Lavery and Freeman on target as United are 4.1 up at Southend, Wilders team are heading to the Championship it looks like. To think we could have had Wilder here twice, hindsight is a wonderful thing I admit that.

I see Matt Tubbs played for Sutton in the 0-0 draw against AFC Wimbledon.
    Adam May on the bench.
Not sure if Brandon Haunstrop is stil there. But didn't figure if he is.

Saw Tubbsy rue a chance he missed early doors on MOTD. Haunstrop is back at FP now, he came on as a second half sub in the 6.2 Reserves win over Exeter on Monday. When Pompey Youths lost in the Youth Cup last season to a very Cosmopolitan Man City, May was our best player by a country mile. I am enjoying the delights of a Bembridge Coast 4 day break at the moment. Back tomorrow and hoping to see a win on Saturday

Tubbsy scored the equaliser for Sutton against big spending Eastleigh. Murphy back on the bench for Cardiff following the signing of Hull loanee Allan McGregor. I was one of a few Pompey fans who went to WLP to see the Hawks beaten 1.3 by Needham Market, therefore giving an above average Hawks league gate of 850 for a top of the table clash. The Hawks squandered chance after chance while the visitors scored every time the Hawks defenders erred which they did too often. Bradders got frustrated, entered the field of play to stop their no 8 wasting time after the whistle had gone as he ran past the dug out with the ball. For his troubles Bradders was "sent off" and will no doubt face the F.A.

Congratulations to Adam May and Sutton in beating Leeds 1-0 to progress to next round.
Get him back,(no that would be a bit unfair to him)....love to see Sutton progress further with him (and Tubbs) on board, rather than warm our bench. Looking forward to the draw 7 pm Monday night on the one show.
