    Today's demographics

With the latest poll showing an increase for Independence. Could this be part down to demographics ?

The 2% rise in Independence support since the referendum looks pretty much all due to demographic change. The older No voters dying off after all it was the over 60s who actually secured the No vote.

Electorate eligible for 2015 UK General Election. 4,099,532.
    that excludes 16 and 17 years olds = 118,834
Which gives an electorate of 4,218,366
    1% of that is 42,000
Just shy of 55,000 people die in Scotland per year.

    45% Yes in 2014
    46% in 2015
    47% in 2016
    48% in 2017
    49% in 2018
50% in 2019 (psychological tipping point)
    51% in 2020

This is without value judgement of course. Each individual death is a tragedy: someone's mum, husband, father, wife. Be they a No voter or a Yes voter. All dear to someone. All horribly missed.

Couple this with Westminster betrayal of Scotland and folk waking up to the wealth of our country Independence is inevitable.

Wee stuarty pinning hopes on people dying off to gain independence.

    Shameful.
