Wolves stay in the north country to take on Newcastle again in the third round of the EFL Cup. I imagine both sides will make a decent amount of changes. Wolves got the surprising win in league play on Saturday and I know we wouldn't mind a sweep of the Magpies and a trip to the quarterfinals of the EFL Cup - which would be our first quarterfinal cup appearance since our 02-03 FA Cup quarterfinal loss to Southampton after defeating Newcastle in the third round (coincidence?), Leicester in the fourth and Rochdale in the fifth.
Not much to say about Newcastle. We know they have quality, even if they didn't show much of it Saturday. We know Wolves are capable of both beautiful and apocalyptic performances - even within a few days of one another.
One thing I forgot to mention about the Prediction League and cup matches - predict what the final score will be after 90 minutes plus stoppages. Do not predict a score for after extra time or penalties. If you were to say, for example, Newcastle 2(3)-2(4) Wolves to signify that Wolves were to win on penalties, your prediction is voided. Just list a score after 90 minutes. If Wolves were to win or lose a cup match in extra time or penalties, but you predicted a draw, you would still get credit it for it. If it is 2-2 heading into extra time and you predicted a 3-2 victory for Wolves and Wolves ended up winning 3-2, you would not get credit for a prediction because it was 2-2 after 90 minutes. Hope that clears things up.
