    Jim Atkinson

    Noticed that young Moffat lad Leighfield was on the bench at Dumbarton yesterday -I may have missed this but is Jim injured ?

    By all accounts he has a calf injury. Leighfield was given Thomson's 21 squad number, although he's currently loaned out to Gretna 2008. He'll be covering until Atkinson's back fit before going back to Gretna I'd assume.

    Jim Atkinson is now pushing twenty two years of age. He was understudy to Zander Clark, then he was understudy to Robbie Thomson and now he is understudy to Lee Robinson. Realistically, does he have a first team future at Palmerston or is he to be the perennial understudy before establishing a future somewhere other than football?

    Time the lad moved on and got first team football elsewhere IMO ......
