Warren Joyce, the Manchester United Under-21 boss, is now their new manager. A big job on his hands.

    New Wigan Manager

Interesting appointment. Especially considering their position in the table. Will be watching closely.

Im shocked at this, as Wigan came up (with us & Burton) last season as comfortable Lg One winners.
They were always going to have bad spells this time like we and Burton were as well, so surely some common sense should have been used here. But no, they have swung the axe and now the pressure is on an unheard of former U-21 coach, what are the odds on him keeping them up eh ?

I will be very surprised over the course of the season to see them survive. The championship is a different level of competition to what Warren Joyce has enjoyed at Man.Utd.

It will be a struggle for them of course, and Joyce might end up regretting taking the job if he fails to keep them up.
And what next for Caldwell, maybe Lg One is his best level as manager.

Well it's already ended badly for Warren Joyce, sacked by Wigan.

I think we all saw this coming a mile off didnt we '71, it was a really strange decision hiring him.

Yes, Wigan took the chance and now it could prove costly, relegation is a big possibility now.

It is even more so after losing at home to the Villingham's today
Ive not got much time for them to be honest as they have bought their current 'era' simply because of a rich owner.
In fact, remember where Wigan & Fulham were not so long ago before messrs Whelan & Al Fayed bought into both clubs and brought them up from the 4th Division.
