Do names on your list have to be unemployed? If not, add Nicholson
I'm still a but surprised at all this I must confess. I wish Gavin Skelton and his family well for the future
Before I continue with this post I just wanted to thank Gavin for all his efforts during his time at Queens. I feel he conducted himself in a professional manner while at Palmerston and I can only wish him only the best in the future.
Now I know that the bed is still warm but I thought it would be worth seeing who the likely candidates to take over the vacant manager position are.
Currently unemployed;
Jim Thomson
John Hughes
Alex McLeish
Gary Caldwell
Alex Rae
Ally McCoist
John O'Neil
Kenny McDowall
Steven Pressley
Danny Lennon
Kenny Brannigan
Colin Cameron
Barry Smith
Pat Fenlon
Terry Butcher
A big list with I agree some unrealistic targets. One thing for sure is our facilities have improved a lot over the years and despite not having the funds of some clubs we can still be an attractive proposition for some managers.
Apologies for creating another managers thread. If this could be merged with the other managers one that would be great.

the footballing world is very small . would anyone want to manage queens if they're not aloud to do things their way and without interference
hmmm id add greame robertson to that list ,been hearing he might well be in the frame likes .but who knows anyones guess at this point likes .
ah noticed thats already bean posted on another thread lol .
Just because we recognise a name does that mean they are the right fit for QoS? Or even good enough? Ally McCoist was a great host on Question of Sport but not a good manager. There are plenty of Managers in Scotland with top level qualifications that would do a brilliant job; but because they didn't play professionally or didn't play at the heady heights that is the SPL... we don't even give them a chance. Fresh face, fresh approach, no ego, no high wage demand.
Some sound thinking Sergeant South.
It may be that someone who has had managerial experience in another field, but who has a passion for football may be more suited to the job than an ex professional.
Granted, that person would have to fast track his badges, but as long as the club has the correct number of qualified coaches e.g. Jim Thomson, - there is nothing to stop the club considering all offers!
