Skelton has signed for Appleby AFC of the Westmorland League Division One. Not sure what level of English football this is or whether he's playing or is the manager or both?

I was curious but can't actually find the Westmorland League in the Pyramid system down to 20 (that is 20 below the main league). He will be playing the likes of Penrith reserves, Kendal Unt (different team to Kendal Town), Keswick etc. Not a step up at all by a long long way, but back to where it all started for him, so good on Gavin, and best of luck to him. He can still do a good job elsewhere, and I reckon that if he still has the appetite he certainly will!
I personally still think there's much more to all of this than we will ever know, and Gavin has been hard done by at Queens. Injuries aside something went very badly wrong many weeks ago, but we will probably never really know what really happened. However, i'll certainly remember him for the few weeks when we were on fire, and he helped rejuvenate a team that was going nowhere when he took over, to one that was flying above the likes of Hibs, Dundee Unt, Falkirk and the rest, and making more scoring chances in a few games, than we seemed to make on the whole of last season. Something went badly wrong many weeks ago (injuries aside), and I know that I'm not the only one who believes Gavin has been made the scapegoat (but then I acknowledge that I know nothing, and as always gut feeling counts for nothing outwith my own beliefs). Best of luck to Gavin, and unlike some former managers I 'will' remember him fondly.
He`s playing footbal near where he lives at a low level such that he can contribute to a local team. In all honesty it`s no big deal and frankly who cares. He didn`t leave QOS so he could pitch up at Appleby. Good luck to a good guy.

Well said!My thoughts are similar.
Good luck to Gavin and really hope he enjoy's playing amateur football for his local club. The Westmorland set - up has 4 divisions made up of teams from wee villages such as Shap etc in the part of Cumbria that was once the old county of Westmorland.
Yes all the best to Gavin and this move would suggest that perhaps the pressure of managing a Championship side as well as the reported travelling was just getting to much for him and his family. He is now essentially back home with no travelling up the motorway so life is much less taxing in the tranquil Lake District.
How on earth am I the only reason people don't post on this message board? So what if you know my name on both boards. At least I'm posting threads and replying to others. You don't need to read my posts or reply if you don't want to, but I'd hardly say I'm the only reason people dont post on here.
I'll go to Admin if you continue this verbal vendetta.
