    Another example......

Henrik Larsson was one of the best, if not the best, player to play in the Scottish Premier League in recent years. He is now the manager of his home town team in Sweden, Helsingborg. Helsingborg have just been relegated and Larsson has been attacked by fans of Helsingborg. It is popularly believed in the footballing fraternity that the route to being a manager is to have been a player. This is another illustration that managing a football club and playing football are two entirely different skills. Scottish football might currently be in a better place if there were a wider acceptance of that.

    Good example.

There's nothing more spectacular in football than a team in freefall - and nothing more depressing than a team in a gradual ever - worsening decline especially when its YOUR own team - the words of journalist Bill Leckie about his club St. Mirren but which could easily refer to Queens disastrous fall from grace in the last few weeks !

Queens I reckon must have had one of the worst collapses in their history. I know there was a season way back in the early 1930s, when the club were leading the First Division at Christmas and spiralled down the league.

If it wasn't for Skelton leaving we would have won the league - come on let's get real here. We were in a false position. We are a top 4 / 5 team at best

You are absolutely right, deek. Finishing in the top four for two seasons in succession was quite an achievement for Queens but, realistically, that's as good as it is likely to be for us. The Premiership is pie in the sky. Our post war history will show that SPFL1 is much more likely than the Premiership. However, that is not a popular opinion to express here.

Got to disagree with you there - not withstanding early season form Queens have not got the squad to win the league - we had some fantastic early season results but once teams got wise to the Dobmeister the goals dried up and we are where we are - Hold on to your seats as it could be a McCall type escape from relegation

Dobbie is still more than a handful for opponents but he can't do it all himself. The almost non existent support from midfield makes his job far more difficult. We have to hope that Danny Carmichael can spark some life into the middle . Ps What about Dykes running through from centre mid ? Could that be a goer ?

yep jr its defo worth a try ,our prob is in the central mid area we just havnt got the quality in there ,dykes is a worker and could give it forward momentum ,i think its a must that the central mid area is addressed during the next transfer window as a priority .

Admin, I was being sarcastic re us winning the league towards those who have gone a bit overboard with the recent bad run of form imo. We had no chance what so ever with Hibs and Dundee United in it.

We just over achieved early on and it's made fans suspicious with our terrible run but what we have to remember is, this season started on the back of a new manager, newish squad and a very small one at that.
If we closed our eyes at the start of the season and opened them now, we are positioned just as we would expect. Expectations have just ran away with some.
