Thank you QOS5AYR4, - I would agree almost entirely with your summing up and on another day Queens could have had 4 or 5 goals.

There was plenty more effort from all the players (apart from Millar) - but then I expected that, - as they were surely trying to impress their new manager?

A wee bit extra training could turn those lads into a 4th placed team, and an extra hour's tuition every day for Dykes on first touch, shooting and one on one situations with the keeper will transform him!

Naysmith will also have to threaten players with fines for petulance; Hammil was fortunate not to be booked for his completely pointless touchline challenge which he followed up by kicking the ball away! The referee chose not to act at that point, but almost immediately awarded a very soft penalty ..................and one wonders if the two acts were not linked?

Millar's attitude was akin to the "Falkirk two," while his blatant and utterly futile trip in front of the referee beggared belief. His booking meant that he was walking on egg-shells for the rest of the game, - and Queens cannot risk having players who behave like that.

So if Naysmith can turn Queens into a super fit and disciplined team with the flair of wee Danny and renewed confidence in Dykes and Dobbie, - then we can look forward to a good second half of the season, but it will take time to bed those qualities in.

Regardless of how fit and disciplined the team is, we will still need a couple of additions: a tall, mobile defender in the mould of Durnan would be ideal, as would a creative midfielder called Ian McShane brought in on loan from Ross County, - or someone of that ilk.

To conclude: although we lost 2-0 to a very poor Dumbarton side, I think the corner was turned. Sadly though, Millar only proved to his new boss what we all know: He is not the man to control midfield, and it is the midfield that must be transformed if Queens hope to salvage anything from this season.

iv been saying the same for weeks now jardi you hit the nail on the head ,a team can only play as well as the central mid engine room if thay aint upto it ,attacks break down ,we go from wing to wing and too slowely aswell ,we need someone in the midfield like what we had in kerr ,that has to be top priority in the transfer window ,and asap as soon as it opens not this waiting till the last breath of the window .
