Hughes can play deep though, he's not exactly poor in that position. Johnson played on the left for Norwich and scored 15 goals in their promotion season.

We wouldn't have had 29 points, we'd be probably on about 20 and looking over our shoulders, but he'd have us improving steadily, don't forget he offloaded Hendrick for 10m who wasn't even a starter for us, not to mention getting 3m loan fee for Martin,, and have we really missed either of them?, Anya was a good buy imo, out injured now but was a decent buy,, Vydra is yet to prove himself but looks handy, esp if we're playing on the counter,, and we actually made a net profit during the summer which helped us with FFP a little..

And then there's the improved defence, it was Pearson who imo sorted that cluster f*** out, we've looked solid all season but have yet to hit top gear up top, but when it does click up top we could be deadly.

Pearson would have had us pushing for autos within time imo and was harshly sacked, but whats done is done and we hope mac can keep up the good work he's done since returning.

The lesson there for anybody is dont **** with the boss man! No matter how good you think you are, you will generally be sacked!

The bloke needs to thank his lucky stars that mac has managed to turn it around quickly and get us away from the drop zone first and foremost, the fact we're 2 points off top 6 is astonishing tbh, esp when you consider we looked anything but top 6 material 2 months ago.

I still stand by what I said when Pearson was sacked, in that he would have us improving and we'd have benefitted long term, and you could say our tight defence is down to Pearson tbh, we never really suffered defensively, it was our misfiring forwards that couldn't hit a barn door early on in the season.
