Lets face it, supporting England is unacceptable.

As you wish, but when I first took an interest when the monochrome BBC broadcast the 1965 Headingley Test against New Zealand, with Barrington, MJK Smith, Parfitt and Ballater resident JH Edrich 310*, I supported England in cricket as I’m still happy to do.

A year later, and four years after that in Mexico, everyone I knew supported England in the World Cup. I don’t now, but as has been discussed before, that has been largely down to press and media activity which you don’t get to anything like the same extent in cricket. You like Radio 4 - sit back and absorb the aural beauty of Test Match Special.

Don't listen to it now but was a fan of Test Match Special from way back in the John Arlott days.
Was always better when England got beaten though.

    I also remember Mexico 1970

Great rejoicing when England got trounced 3-2 by the Germans.

Bobby Moore - necklace - etc.

You may well be right with the bracelet/ necklace correction but the second last line of that song was definitely " you're a p'oofter"

Either way I think we can agree that the art of the football chant has lost it's way.

I blame the introduction of soft toilet paper.

Slow start. Kiwis 56-1 after 14 overs. I think this will be close.

Not that fussed who wins tbh.

Winners chosen by some obscure rule in the end. Nothing to do with the fact the winners had no batsmen left at the end of the game.

    Sport is truly phucked.

That's an absurd way to decide a game of cricket. Why not play more super overs until it isn't a tie.

Anyway, I always thought that in a tie the team that lost the fewest wickets was the winner, that would be a more sensible way to decide it.
