Moult the hero as Motherwell celebrate on Hogmanay

A late, late, late Louis Moult header earned a heroic ten man Motherwell a point at Hamilton on Hogmanay. It was a fitting reward for the Steelmen as they refused to lose the derby. - External Link

Boy am I glad I stayed to the end. I would have settled for a draw as soon as we went down to 10 men

Gallant stuff indeed. Some Accies fans after the game were feeling that they should have 'killed the game' and stuff like that. The fact is that, while Accies had some situations with potential against our ten men, we actually had the better chances in front of goal, with more attempts on target. We could just as easily have won that game as Hamilton.
But I'll take a point, especially when I look at our upcoming run of fixtures.

Very true. Whilst Accies exerted a lot of pressure they didn't trouble Samson overly much. We certainly had more efforts on target and posed more of a threat. A typical derby and we were worth a point. The referee was inconsistent and looked out of his depth at times.

Watched the highlights on Alba. The Accies 'keeper was named MOTM, which says something about the balance of the game!

He was certainly the busier of the two keepers.
