    Racism In Local Amateur Fitba

    http://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/...at-player/amp/

Just read in the EE about this as someone has been charged because of the incident. Must have been in the paper when i was in Holland. (This is from the paper a week ago with the full story)

It will be interesting to see the outcome

Years ago, must have been mid 80s, we had a Chinese guy played for us.

You can imagine what he got week in week out.

If course, in those days it was just....... accepted or normal.

Fair play to the Uni boys.

I saw a game at Goals in Glasgow between a skinhead team wearing Leeds Utd strips, playing an all Asian side in Celtic tops. Match abandoned shortly after kick off

Folk are afa scared of words these days.
Surely there are better ways of getting even during a fitba match.

Not that I'm condoning it mind you, I just wonder if running off greeting is the best way of dealing with it.

I understand they reported it to the ref, who claimed not to have heard the remarks, then they chose to boycott it.

When Shay Logan was subjected to it, Mark Reynolds called it to the referee's attention so that it could be included in his match report to ensure action was taken.

I think it took bigger balls to walk off than it would have to condone it by continuing to play.

I mind Bruce well his Dad very much like myself would often be found in old tote office.

Regarding racism, I have mixed views on it, of course I don’t condone it, however there a lot of petals out there getting offended these days.

Kind of agree. I'd have broken the cnut's leg. That way, he'd think twice about racially abusing me the next time we went toe to toe. No need to involve Plod, the courts, etc etc.

Can guarentee non IC1 fotballers get racially abused on every pitch in every game. Doesn't get reported. That doesn't make it right, but an eye for an eye, sometimes, works better.......

All depends on context though. Depends on what actually was said.
