He would be stupid to take it on at the moment, he's in a comfortable position and happy where he is.

He's young enough to wait until they have a more stable ownership and then take it on, when it will be offered again.

Maybe, that would be sensible, or maybe his heart will want to follow his dad, stranger things have happened!

I don't agree on this one Triz think it would be a bad move. We were in a massive mess and all realized it and pulled together. They are in a mess and expecting miracle. Their owner if reports are to be believed seems to live in another dimension and hell be looking for instant results however painful in Billy Liar style!

You're surely not suggesting a scenario where a manager who left a club in disgrace just a short time ago might be welcomed back to the scene of his failings are you Rats?

Nice that he can manage on a small budget, and in 4 seasons get to a F=A-cup semi final--A- league cup semi final,A play off semi final-and a promotion.and in the same 4 seasons Derby having spent multi millions, are still a top championship side.
Funny thats were he left them

Nigel Clough had a 33% win ratio in his years at Derby and has virtually the same statistic at Burton. At Sheffield United, easily the biggest side outside the top two tiers, he did better but still failed to get them up.
In comparison Steve McClaren's win ratio first time round was 57% and is currently 64%. I know that doesn't tell the whole story Trevor but money isn't everything as our previous two incumbents go to prove.

I think his Dad would call him daft to take on the job right now. Imagine if gets the job and starts next week and a month later new owners come in. I think he'd be out on his arse come the end of the season as they'd want their own choice of manager!
