I think you are right about being "up" for the big games, it's the only explanation for what we have seen in terms of results.
1-0 Wanderers, Edwards with the goal.
Wolves take on league leaders Newcastle at Molineux this weekend. We won the first league match at St James Park, then lost to them in the League Cup less than a week later. As stated, Newcastle are at the top of the table and unless something drastic happens, they should be jumping right back up to the Premier League. They are six points clear and a match in hand on third place. They're the third best scoring defense in the league, allowing only 23 goals so far this season. They've also scored more goals than anyone else in the league with 57. Dwight Gayle has 20 goals on the season, which puts him top of the league. Matt Ritchie also has put in 8 goals in league play. They spent 57 million pounds in the summer and have stood pat this January.
Wolves have been a roller coaster. Highs like the wins against Newcastle, Stoke, Liverpool, and Brum. Losses like QPR and Burton. But under Lambert, Wolves have seemed to be "up" for the big matches.

Wolves 2-2 Newcastle (Dicko)!
Wolves 1 - Newcastle 2...... under Lambert we are an improved outfit, but at present I don't think we are a genuine threat against a team that, a week ago, would have ripped Burton apart. Sorry, but I can't see us gaining any points from this. Now, please prove me wrong !!!
