Never go back
Seriously ? His last 4 jobs have been :-
Aston Villa, 11 months 21 % win record
Nottingham Forest 2 months 14% win record
Genk 10 months 51% win record
Zamalek (Egypt) 3 months 60% win record
No chequebook this time for him either....
Never go back
What a pity there are no Sevco fans on here to give their opinion on the latest goings-on at Hoot FC
I wouldn't be too hard on Eck wanting the gig. He's been quite a successful manager in Scotland and that's all that matters. I seem to recall Billy McNeill who did very well with Celtic getting two teams (was it Villa and Man City) relegated in the same season down in England.
Eck knows Scottish fitba and I think he'd do a decent enough job. Looks like he could do with a few bob and all. Seemed quite chuffed that Tanner was bumming him up for the gig.
I doubt there'd be a long line of managers interested in the the rangers gig with a CV as good as Ecks.
At least Dave King has some friends in the shape of Craig "Uncle Fester" Houston and Club 2012, who think the South African based glib and shameless liar will appoint the right man.....
Bring back agent McLeish.
"Alex McLeish will leave his job as the Rangers manager at the end of the season, the club confirmed last night, bringing to an end the long-running speculation about his future.....in light of recent results and helpful discussions with various supporters' groups, directors and senior players, it was agreed that the announcement of the manager's departure should be made now."
"McLeish has been under pressure for almost the entire season......Before Christmas he suffered the ignominy of overseeing the longest winless run in Rangers' history....an embarrassing Scottish Cup defeat to Hibernian last weekend followed by defeat in the Scottish Premier League to Aberdeen on Wednesday, have forced Murray to make that deal public.
Rangers.......trail Celtic by 18 points in this season's race. They have slipped back to fourth place in the table and European football is far from guaranteed next season......McLeish, a lame duck for months, will apparently waddle on until then, at least."

"Aston Villa have sacked manager Alex McLeish after 11 months in charge. The 53-year-old former Scotland manager said his farewells to the club's staff on Monday morning. Villa have endured a poor Premier League campaign, finishing just above the relegation zone after winning only four of 19 games at home.
"Aston Villa can confirm that Alex McLeish's contract has been terminated with immediate effect. The club has been disappointed with this season's results, performances and the general message these have sent to our fans."

"Alex McLeish has confirmed he will step down as head coach of Belgium side KRC Genk at the end of the season. The former Rangers, Aston Villa and Birmingham manger took charge of the club in August last year and has already decided to leave his post in May. McLeish’s side missed out on qualification for the Jupiler Pro League Championship play-offs, though they did qualify for the Europa League play-offs."

"Alex McLeish has left Egyptian side Zamalek with immediate effect after just 65 days in charge of the Egyptian club."

It won't take a footballing genius to manage Sevco these days as long as the board accept that catching Celtic is not possible. If, however they're going to insist on a managers imaginary resignation every time they can't keep up, then they better keep the revolving doors oiled.
Let's be honest, you could make a goldfish the next Rangers manager, 'Spendin' Rogers will screw up soon enough, look how he blew Liverpools sure fire title season, the fraud is on borrowed time
