The 'attendance' is,and always has been,the number of people who've ATTENDED.
Tickets sold and the money thus generated is a matter for the club to divulge to the relevant authorities and is a separate issue to the attendance.

In all honesty who really gives a damn as to exactly how many were there. a rough guide is enough and if you attend then you can see for yourself what the attendance is like in general terms as to if its growing or reducing. I really can't understand this fixation with the need for accuracy. if you were to be making a roll call after a major incident even then I dont see that an exact figue would be of much use as you wouldnt know if anyone had gone through the turnstiles but left early or which part of the ground they were in. Build a bridge and get over it and just enjoy the spectacle
