    Bbc alba

    What's the point ?

Every time clubs appear on this television channel crowds are down and the home team receives little or nothing in return

Can't fault their coverage but there's no financial rewards . Who was it that agreed this deal ?

By the way , yesterday's attendance for a semi final was embarrassing and it was not helped by being live on ALBA and the 5.15 KO

I agree with that. Let's get back to our first choice eleven and our league campaign and get more points on the board versus Raith and Falkirk at home, before another game on ALBA away to Morton.

Certainly the coverage is not handy if we are at home . As you say, folk like us would be there anyway but the less committed will watch at home . On the other hand , the live coverage of some away games are very welcome if you can't make it.

Totally agree JR - ALBA is a complete waste of time and no financial reward to Queens. The scheduling of the match at 5.15 PM on a Saturday is an example of all that is wrong with Scottish football. Saturday evening is usually a night fir socialising with friends and family and there are always problems with transport for those like myself who live in rural areas. The resultant attendance last night was an utter disgrace with perhaps about 600 missing fans. Regret to say the poster campaign by the Queens Trust and others has made no significant difference to attendances. It must be said Queens are not alone at suffering diminishing attendances - Celtic who are running away with the Premier League played St Johnstone in Perth recently in front of a half empty stadium.

There was a big effort by Queens & fans to promote yesterday's game on social media and still they failed to turn up .

The fact is , if it wasnt for the money making facility the Queens Arena we'd be part-time .

People like me who live abroad appreciate any sort of live coverage.

When you say no financial rewards do you mean no payment at all? Sounds like it's costing us money in that case as a result in reduced gate receipts. I was blissfuly unaware of this if it's the case.

I'm sure I read a post on the P&B site from skyline drifter saying clubs receive nothing for live league games ?? Not sure of cup games but it appears we're losing money . Maybe he could confirm

The tv coverage I guess helps to bring in the sponsors of the tournament. Payout of £10,250 I think for the losing semi finalists. Also some of the clubs sponsors will get a bit extra visibility.

Current chairman Mr Hewitson quoted in the Dumfries Courier said: '' the prize money isn't substantial until we reach the final - financially a large part depends on Dundee United and the size of their travelling support '' Don't know how many Arabs were
in attendance but delete their total and the home support was a disgrace for a semi - final even though the weather was poor and the ridiculous kick - off time.
