Wolves head to Reading this upcoming weekend. Usually teams look forward to playing at home, but I imagine Wolves will welcome the sight of another pitch after losing four straight at home. Wolves won the first matchup of the season at Molineux thanks to goals from Doherty and Mason. However, that was only the second league match of the season. After a mediocre start, Reading steadily climbed up the table and currently sit in 5th place with 60 points in 34 matches, 7 points clear of 7th place (though Fulham have a match in hand). I think most are probably surprised by the quality of the first season under Jaap Stam. They are tied for 7th in goals scored and 13th for goals conceded. Of the top 6, however, they're the only club to concede more than 40 goals this season. Their top goal scorers are Yann Kermorgant and Gareth McCleary with 8 each. John Swift and Roy Bereens have scored 7 and 6 respectively. They are coming off two consecutive losses in which they have scored 0 goals. However, it should be pointed out that those two matches came against the 1st and 3rd place teams in the league. I think they'll gladly welcome the sight of Wolves. With how we're playing, not sure I can predict a victory. But we sorely need points to pull away from the relegation zone. This is the last chance to win a match in February, or we'll face a six match losing streak in all competitions.
