Thread: Dublin, Derby or Doncaster?

  1. #1

    Dublin, Derby or Doncaster?

Who is up for a weekend jaunt in July or August? Anywhere but Blackpool please?

Suggestions on the back of a fag packet

    Dublin
    Chester
    Aberystwyth
    St Davids
    Scarborough
    Skegness
    Caernarfon

    Just a few suggestions

What about Tenby? Never been to Aberystwyth, what's it like there? To encourage more people to go it may be better not to travel over the sea so rule out Dublin? If something is arranged I'm happy to go wherever it is, my only preference is that it would be nice to see the sea? I enjoyed Weston Super Mare? Maybe first thing to do is get a list of those who are interested? So far:

    Rammy
    Lazaat

Trip for 2 eh? (up to now). Aberystwyth is quite nice as I recall. Only been a couple of times though. Tenby is a good shout.

There's a nice hotel above the station, which might be a good option for me?

Has the place got to begin with D?

Alto's probably nobbling his steering rack and too busy to post

The beach at Aberystwyth is a bit pebbly whereas Tenby has 2 long sandy beaches, with plenty of hotels overlooking them.

    Tenby sounds good

Still only 2 names, I thought at least Mike would have put his name down? Tenby is a beautiful place so definitely up for that!

    My previous post disappeared? ?

I said we could try and persuade Mark Eeles to attend.

Mark told me he would like to tag along, but still need a few more names?

    Claw might be upforit?

Frenchie might if the meet was in Jersey.

I have been to Tenby and yes it is lovely but that's one hell of a drive for the northerners

Rather than relying on this forum it may be wise to pick up the phone to a few lost souls

Tenby is good and so is Saundersfoot nearby.

I stayed in Saundersfoot for a few days a few years ago and visited Tenby while there, they are both great places!

I always enjoy the walk from Saundersfoot to the pub at Wiseman's Bridge especially when the tide is coming in. Plenty of rock pools filling up. Also the little room at the Royal Oak where in the off season you can mix with the locals and feel the sense of community.
