Gavin appears to have done the sensible thing and went back to playing before going back into coaching, rather than management.

Played 100s of games for Carlisle and stays nearby in Weatherall - been at Ayr for a couple of seasons and played against the Queens in the last campaign - amazed you have never heard of him and also did not know our new keeper Martin was big John's son ! !

I think I recall a Murphy playing for Ayr United last season but I wasn't thinking a player would be going into management like that. Also, I never realised John Martin's son would have been that age.
