    Training Ground Roundwood

My guess is the training ground will be improved rather than re-developed.
My guess is that there will be physio & gym facilities for the players and coaching staff. There will even be can**** facilities provided.
NOTE : for the posh boys on here a can**** is a refreshment area where the players will go after training to socialise, have a meal and a refreshment before they head off to Brecks for a decent game of snooker.
That's Brecks Wickersley not Johnny Brecks gaffe.
My guess is it could well happen in close season.

Of course all the above will have to be done on budget.

Gone down in my books Brecks (Wickersley)

Sounds about best thing to do to me Casper, TS might one day get to purchase the ground if he keeps asking then he can sell the other land off

They`re going to do something with the pitch which the reserves play on. Unfortunately this season the top pitch is not up to standard so needs improving.
The state of the pitch is the reason Fisher got injured recently in a reserves game.

There`s nothing wrong with the Snooker Hall at Brecks topsy, had some really good days there, besides it not where you play it`s who you play against.....

Was under the same impression as mellow, that planning permission had been given for House build on the Brinsworth land.

If that's the case TA would be mad to sell it for what he paid for it....

Get a building firm in and make a few million with at least 20 houses on that land....

Who owns Roundwood? Could he afford to buy the job lot outright? Now that be a good business venture.... develop the area with up to date training facilities to attract players and a round of golf once you've finished....

Tata owns the Roundwood complex including the golf course and employees of the company pay an amount from their salaries each month which entitles them to use the sports facilities.
I can't imagine that Tata would want to sell their sports facilities, including Roundwood Pavilion but, even if they did, I think the price they would require would be way beyond Tony Stewart's aspirations unless he sold the land at Brinsworth first.
Of course the situation may change if/when Liberty House complete their purchase of the Tata Speciality Steels business but somehow I doubt it.

The club will more than likely take a long lease on Roundwood they may have done so already.
There won't be any major Development, just improvements.

Have you seen the price of land ?......it usually increases on a yearly basis.

Can you only get 20 houses on that land ?

I'm being conservative.... any builder would squeeze 30+ on it...

Roundwood is a nice facility and I remember it from the mid 70s when it first opened but obviously it's not suited as a professional football training ground without serious redevelopment/investment. If they do then I hope they keep some of the existing facilities as my Dad had the first ever hole in one at that golf course, was club captain and also worked part time as a groundsman for about 10 years between taking redundancy from BSC and retiring. Part of him is also scattered there.
