    No bounce for Motherwell

There was no new manager bounce for Motherwell as St Johnstone took the points at Fir Park after a handing us a 2-1 defeat. We equalised once with McDonald but despite a late effort failed to score a second. - External Link

There was no bounce & won't be because of the decision of making the new manager an insider.
If you want a bounce in productivity you have to have a different set of values, different approach, you can't have familiarity, you have to have change. Too many players will be applying themselves or not just that same as before.
Those too comfy in their position will welcome business as usual -- e.g. Lasley speaking up for McGhee.
What you want instead are those that maybe haven't been in favor seizing an opportunity to get themselves into the favored slots, and creating competition for the jersey.

Our club chose business as usual, and I contend our last 3 results may well have been the same under McGhee.
Simply no impetus to create a different set of results & the club needed to bring in an outsider for the managers role, and likely also the assistants too. Robinson has clearly already indicated McFadden won't remain in his position at the end of his contract at the end of the season.
