Long Serving Managers In The Football League 2016 / 17 season.

A big merry go round, managers losing their jobs quicker, it seems the owners / chairman want quicker success.

Only counted 1 manager for the Millers as a appointment to the job.

96 clubs with total manager experience of just 107 full years at their current clubs (so not counting those appointed in 2016) and 4 managers account for 40 of those 107. Shocking waste of money in paying up contracts but nice work if you can get it. Championship worst of all with just 15 years across 24 clubs.

Just looking again at Championship manager length of tenure at clubs in the division.

Mick McCarthy - Ipswich Town - 4 years 141 days
    Grayson - Preston N.E. - 4 years 32 days

    Chris Hughton - Brighton - 2 years 81 days

    Carvalhal - Sheffield W. - 1 year 265 days
    Wagner - Huddersfield T. - 1 year 133 days
    Dean Smith - Brentford - 1 year 112 days
    Clough - Burton Albion - 1 year 105 days
    Jokanovic - Fulham - 1 year 85 days
    Johnson - Bristol City - 1 year 44 days
    Heckingbottom - Barnsley - 1 year 44 days
    Benitez - Newcastle U. - 1 year 11 days

    Monk - Leeds United - - 293 days
    Stam - Reading - - 282 days
    Warnock - Cardiff City - - 168 days
    Bruce - Aston Villa - - 161 days
    Lambert - Wolverhampton W. - - 137 days
    Holloway - Queens Park Rangers - - 131 days
    Warne - Rotherham United - - 114 days
    Zola - Birmingham City - - 98 days
    Mowbray - Blackburn Rovers - - 28 days
    Irvine - Norwich City - - 12 days
    Barrow - Wigan - - 08 days
    Rowett - Derby County - - 08 days
    Warburton - Nottingham Forest - - 08 days

2 managers with 4 years employment
1 manager with 2 years employment

8 managers with 1 year employment

13 managers with less than a year employment.

The list & term of tenure, doesn't look to good for a manager, wanting a secure job in the championship managers hot seat, this league has become a revolving door in manager appointments.
