    Gary Rowett Speaks Out

Gary Rowett speaks out about the reports of negativity towards the player's,lack of hunger from the fans and has come out saying "that is not true". Speaking to RamsTV, Rowett said: " I think there's a perception around, maybe from our fans and from other people, that maybe this group don't have enough hunger to be successful or don't want it enough, and I certainly haven't seen that in the first weeks of training. "So we want to use that, and we want to show people that's not true." For one Rowett, training commitment means nothing, when it comes down to the action on match day,and that's when the real test comes in to play. We have all seen that the player's lack of consistency,to perform to their full potential, has been below, what is expected from the player's and their performance, has not been good enough, which has seen 4 managerial changes in a short period of time. Lets look at the perception of not the negativity given from the fans,to the player's but the negativity given from the player's,to the fans because at the end of the day,it is them that they have to impress us the most and it is their work commitment,to the team that they get paid for. Manager's coming out backing the player's commitment is common,to avoid the backlash but these player's do need some stick and they are playing for their careers, over the final 8 games of the season,so they need to show Rowett and us fans that they still have what it takes to take us forward.

Basically we haven't got the quality in the team we once had, go back to when we had
Butland Wisdom Thorne Bamford Lingaard Ibe Martin Hendrick Forsyth even dawkins all superior to the players we have in the squad today
So there's your answer to the problem in the squad today ,they may work hard in training but if you ain't got it you ain't got it

Wisdom, Forsyth and Thorne are the only 3 we miss from that lot imo. 2 proper full backs and a proper DM.

the others can be replaced far easier, esp Lingard and Ibe... Martin isn't needed for the style we'll be playing under Rowett, Dawkins? we have Ince who actually has a finishing product. Butland was ok but no better than Carson imo.

Ibe has the footballing ability of my gran, ask most Bournemouth fans and they'll say the same thing.

And Rowett is going down the siege mentality route like I said, creating a us against them mentality which will be good imo,, protecting them etc.

Those player's were good for that period, but with the Championship improving every season, and the types of strengths, you now have to balance out,to be able to compete and keep up with the other teams competing, for the same objectives. It's something we have fallen behind with over the 4 managerial changes, since our 1st reign under Steve from the Play-Off Final against QPR.

We have too win all 8 remaining games, and hope the teams above us have plenty of slip-ups, if we have a slim chance of hope, for a play-off place this season. Rowett believes we are still in with a shot, so we see what happens in the remaining fixtures, ahead and our performances, as a team can handle the huge task ahead. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39421938

I imagine Gary Rowett is simply trying to sort the 'wheat from the chaff'. He has to instil a philosophy of 'so long as there's the slightest chance we go for it' if he's to make the last eight matches worthwhile at any level. I doubt that he really believes we can make it and given that there remains virtually no expectation from the fans for what remains of this season then if, by providing the notion of something to play for, he can see for himself who are the fighters and who are the 'bottlers' it will be time well spent as part of the preparation for next season.

It is all about preparing for next season anyway and sorting out the problematic areas, that are key to go for a promotion push next season, that's if we can achieve that target of course and I hope we can.

Still we have got 8 games remaining to play for, so we will see what happens from now till Summer.
