Alex Salmond on twitter today :

The real French lesson is not about mandates, but about message. In France, Emmanuel Macron has taken on the far right and beaten them. In the UK, Theresa May has dumped UKIP by becoming UKIP.

Macron has carried the flag for liberal values and engagement with Europe. Theresa May has surrendered to UKIP prejudices.

His speech in front of the Louvre yesterday was a positive vision for the future of France in Europe. Theresa May’s speech outside Downing Street last week was right out of the Farage playbook.

The lesson from France is not about mandates, but about message. Macron offers positive hope for the future. The May Tory/UKIP message is a desultory political dead-end.

I would never never wear anything with that flag on it in a million years

But if people like it then that's up to them. .

I'd rather shag a grannie than be a Hun.

Bet the Huns wanted Le Pen to win.

That's pretty much the case, to be fair to my MP.

He seems to have forgotten, however, that the SNP mugged Labour by adopting its clothes ever since its 2007 manifesto, you know, the one where the policy of re-nationalising public transport was dropped, curiously coincidental with Brian Souter handing over a large wad to the Nationalists.

They're welcome to those clothes and policies of course.

There's some cracking photies of him knocking about in his masonic gear, a masons day out to Rosslyn Chapel & with Nacho Novo. He's from Jamestown, which isn't the poshest part of the Vale of Leven. It does make you wonder what it is about the Conservative Party that appeals to him
