    Tree felling*; right or wrong?

Looks like I picked the wrong Off-topic Forum to post this on, before...

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-south-yorkshire-38024846[/url]

I came back to these boards (unless they're entirely new boards?) to talk about this. We have exactly the same thing happening in Gloucester, lines of trees being chopped down with no notification, presumably because many residents would kick up a fuss. Yes, diseased trees are fair game, and maybe if the roots are causing problems, but shouldn't there be more consultation about such matters. The answer, for councils, is presumably, 'no', it's just too much aggro for them, and not 'efficient'.

    So who favours advance notice?

    *Well, some tree felling, obviously.

Cut em doon, Chop em up, Dry em oot n burn the feckers on yer fire.

Braw heat fae em, Oak, Ash, Beech, Elm, Scot Pine with some softwood mixed through it. Ace.

Hard work keeping ahead with fire wood, especially when your are not paying for it. See a bit lying at the side of the road? Stop, out with the chainsaw, cut it up and into the back of my Pick Up.

Be careful not to upset Treebeard and the Ents. They may not be hasty but when their anger is roused, watch out. You may well end up with branches entwined around your neck.

You can make a lovely piece of furniture from a simple piece of this so called 'wood'.

    FACT.
