    Congratulations to

Dumfriesshire's only junior club Kello Rovers on gaining promotion to the Ayrshire Super First Division and also
Edu Sports who came with a late run to win the South of Scotland league after long, long - time leaders Wigtown and Bladnoch blew up in the run - in of the last few weeks. Also good luck in the future and full marks to the players and management of South League side Dumfries YMCA who kept going to the end despite not tasting victory in any of their 26 games and losing 163 goals.

Some of the current Kello players would've been at Queens as youths.

As for your question I'll start with Ian White.

Iain McChesney was registered as a player with Kello but never actually played for them. Apparently at the time you had to have been with a junior club prior to going senior if you wanted to go back to the juniors subsequently. Explained well in the excellent piece on Ches in the QOS legends section of qosfc.com.

Injured Allan Ball's stand - in for games at the start of 1979 - David (Speedy) Clark left Palmerston soon after to play for Kello Rovers.
