Once saw Arthur at a meeting about coal v nuclear power....the punchline was he took out a "safe glass pellet" - a by-product of the nuclear industrial consumables...and asked if they were "safe".....the nuclear guy said yes.....he then also took out a bit of coal.....he asked the nuclear representative that if these things were safe - like coal was - as he popped the coal into his mouth would the nuclear guy do the same - and offered the pellet for the guy to suck......he declined the offer.....

He had made his point.....and the pits were closed.....

Just brought the point up because of:

    "Arthur Scargill - Hypocrite"

He was right! Maggie attacked the "Enemy within" and now the cheapest deep coal in Europe was buried and over 100 000 jobs lost....Arthur fought for those jobs. That's not hypocrisy.

Fascist: a political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation

So a democratic process of any colour can't be fascist unless the voting is rigged / enforced...

As for Le Pen - socialist.....and Hitler's political party is described by many as "socialist".....but by name only....

I think Arthur would put his hand up as a Marxist....which is a good system except greed turns it into capitalism.....that relies on some poor soles being crapped on....and that would be all of us !

    10 bob millionaires don't count....

We don't know the names or faces of the real "Capitalists"....they just control the media and that's all we get to know....

That's our lot and there's bugger all we can do about it !

    Hypocrite, pure and simple.

He was as culpable as Thatcher for the demise of the coal industry.

He did alright though. Made a few bob.

    So no harm done.

    Really.....?

Thatcher wanted to control unions - period ! She practiced on the steel industry and planned / prepared for the miners strike....( coal stocks )

Yorkshire area miners voted NO to the closures of viable pits and Cortonwood started it all off.

From then on the Media in this country truly unfurled their flags and they were all blue.

As the leader of a national union he did right to get a few bob......

    Maggie shook the hands of......
    ..cut /paste...lol

Lech Wałęsa; Polish; born 29 September 1943 is a retired Polish politician and labor activist. He co-founded and headed Solidarity,

    Now that's "hypocrisy"....! ! !

When the NUM were "the enemy within"....!

And she earned a few bob too - her son Lord Thatcher......ffs......got away with supporting a coup d'état and selling arms to our enemies....which our Tax paid for apparently by default when the arms were not paid for.......

We even paid for his rescue when the right honorable Lord Thatcher got lost on the the Dakar Rally.....

Scargill was a great orator and I saw him rip Maggie's minions apart on several stages. Saw him a few times - he remained calm ( most of the time ) and simply told the truth....

    Zero hours contracts any-body......

    Thatcher:

Despicable woman. Why bring her up?

    Scargill:

    Despicable man.

    Both culpable. Opinion. Mine. Thanks.

    Howdy.....dam right lad

    "Opinion. Mine. Thanks"

Not trying to change your opinion - and you probably know stuff that forms your opinion - but as Arthur fought the wicked witch - he's on the right side of evil bitch for me.....lol

As for "Right to buy anyone".....we are still suffering from that political manoeuvre aimed at attracting favour!

The key to political power !

But it wasn't good for the country and our young are still suffering from lack of affordable start-up houses.

Her policy has resigned millions of kids into high cost rented accommodation - long term ! ! !

The individuals that benefitted from this policy sold for big bucks and that was life changing - no doubt....

But as for "Good for the country"...NO !
