    I agree 100% the quality of the opposition does not matter for these games except to the supporters. They are no more than training matches to get the players up to full fitness after the close season. High class opposition would be nice but they are generally busy with other commitments and teams they tend to send for these games are far from the full squad and can consist of youth players.

    Just the thought of a wee trip somewhere different really.

    I fully understand that it is all about fitness but in the past as far as the fans are concerned there have been some great pre - season days in the Highlands, the Newcastle area and even Northern Ireland and Eire. I remember Mark Crosbie leaving Scotland one year travelling through England to Wales where he got the boat to Dublin in Eire where
    Queens were playing.
