Sam Rush...what next?

I make no claim to any sort of financial insight but with the Telegraph (Daily not Derby) now reporting that Sam Rush is likely to be dismissed when he returns from his enforced(?) two week absence, it would certainly seem that something is going on.
Having paid, or perhaps still in the process of paying compensation/severance to McClaren, Clement, Pearson (and his backroom staff) are we (is Mel) actually in a position to pay yet more compensation to a highly paid executive with a contract that runs to 2020 and will there not be complications caused by the fact that I believe Rush holds significant shares in DCFC?
At a time when the manager has, very reasonably, suggested that we need an influx of stronger 'characters' into the dressing room we already need to find a way to ship out some of our current highly paid 'misfits' many of whom are on lengthy contracts. As I said, I know next to nothing about the finances of running a football club, but none of this seems like good news and any thoughts from any genuine 'itks' or those who understand financial matters as regards how we resolve these situations would be very welcome.

Rush's salary will be a drop in the ocean compared to a managers or players so doubt paying compensation is an issue, assuming he is being asked to leave rather than his contract not being renewed.

If he hasn't achieved what he has supposed to then its adios amigo.

Player ins will very much depend upon those who leave so as Rowett said, it will take while before we see some movement.

Rush signed a 5 year contract in late 2015 so has over 3 years to run. Compensation could be significant but as Swale says the CEO wont be the highest earner by any means. It also depends on whether removal is for cause (eg some sort of contractual breach or performance failure).

I think he had shares under the American era but they may have been bought out when Morris took over. If not there will doubtless be preemption rights allowing Morris to acquire them on leaving employment. They cannot be worth much anyway given our debt, trading losses and recent onfield performance. More a "hope value" share to borrow a development land/IHT phrase.

Still not sure, without taking yet another 'hit', how you move on the likes of Blackman and Butterworth (just two examples) who may be good players in another set up but have certainly not cut the mustard with us and remain on lucrative contracts.
Surprised (pleasantly) that the CEO's salary is so much less than the manager's but that is probably just my ignorance about such things.
There is a rumour - and that's absolutely all it is - that there may have been something not quite 'correct' in dealings involving Rush and incoming players represented by his former agency. Really don't know if there is anything in this although it might explain the sudden 'departure'. Hope it's not something that can come back to bite the club rather than just the man himself if there is anything in it.

I'll take a wild guess and say his wages are somewhere between 100 and 150k a year

Just out of interest...if our best paid player earns in the region of £40,000k per week (2,080,000 pa!!!) how much would the guy in charge - the manager - be expected to earn?

Not unusual at all.

Managers are easy pickings from a recruitment perspective. A specialist scientist, engineer, or in this case "skilled worker" (in the real world, perhaps a test pilot would be a better example), there are only a handful in the world of them, or in some cases, they are the only one. Makes them much more valuable to the task than the manager.
