OT - Stephen Fry investigated for Blasphemy FFS!

This takes the biscuit, Fry is under investigation after someone complained when to paraphrase he said "that if there is a god he was utterly evil and mad to have created this world and its misery that isn't our fault"

Good to see someone with sense speaking out - but Blasphemy laws in this century? In Ireland of course and Fry should stick two fingers at them if they try to press charges!

Blasphemy? Does that still exist for God's sake?

To paraphrase Robert M Pirsig, 'When one person suffers from a delusion it's called insanity. When many people suffer from delusion it's called religion'.

...and when an entire Government becomes delusional it's called Brexit...oops...goodnight!

The solutions all are simple... after you have arrived at them. But they're simple only when you know already what they are.

But isn't the Christian god all forgiving? If so how can you punish blasphemy against the Lord's forgiving nature? Unless of course he decides to wipe out every living creature bar 2 of each in a massive flood forgiving way.

'Religions that don't bother fighting back'. Really? Thought most of them fought back and many start the fight in the first place.

do you have a list? Just to help, here's the most commonly used definition:

Holy wars usually have three elements:

the achievement of a religious goal
    authorised by a religious leader
a spiritual reward for those who take part

However involving God as part of the campaign does not make a war a holy war - for a war to be a holy war, religion has to be the driving force.
