    Stranraer v Twente Enschede....

Stranraer will be playing Twente Enschede on Saturday July 8th in a pre-season friendly. I hope we get some decent opposition for a change this year.

Stranraer have added a home game against Larne from Northern Ireland. Albion Rovers have an interesting home game against Whiteheads from Wales.

Afan Lido will host Dalbeattie Star in a pre-season game. Nice wee Welsh trip for them.

I hope Queens play at Brunton Park, Carlisle. This would be a good test.

Yup,the likes of Carlisle would indeed be a good test.Cannot for the life of me see what a manager can learn in watching any trialists playing friendlies against the usual cannon fodder such as Dalbeattie and Gretna. If I was a manager I would rather have a look at someone playing against a side that's gonna be better quality than those two for example.Too often Queens sign players too hastily( in my opinion!)based on them having played well against what has generally been weak pre season opposition for quite a few years now.

Excellent post Bagapapa. Besides Gretna are nowhere near the standard they were whilst playing in England and latterly the Scottish Leagues.
