Huge win for 'Well in Hamilton

Motherwell took a massive three points with a 1-0 win at Hamilton to move off the play-off spot. It was a rotten game of football but that mattered little to the 2,312 'Well fans who cheered the team all afternoon. - External Link

What a dreadful game of football, but what a fighting performance. There were some immense performances in the team. I thought McHugh was brilliant, and Louis gave 100%.

God that was brutal it still worries me how truly awful our performances are..however today I balance that off against the huge pressure they were all under. I still bewildered by our tactics week in week out but just gonna enjoy the fact we won and phuck everything else tonight.

That just about sums it up.

We just deserved the win yesterday and the result was all important. A hugely important win for us and I don't think Accies were unlucky at all. The standard of football was poor but that was down to a combination of factors - our tactics and lack of quality; an unpredictable artifical pitch; and a cynical Accies side which snuffed out any attempt by us to play football. The team showed plenty of spirit and I thought Heneghan and McHugh were the pick of the bunch.

Our fans turned out in numbers to back the team and credit to them for doing that.

The referee was nothing short of abysmal and, he not the players, was often the main talking point.

Onwards and upwards and now to we have to better Accies result in midweek to ensure safety before the long trip north to Inverness.

Was total and utter dire one thing no matter what happens giving Robinson an 18 month contract was utter madness.

If we survive this season only be same next not the man to take us anywhere in a hurry and don't trust him in bringing players to the club.

Correct....he's got a big rebuilding job to do in the close season and I don't think he's the man to do it

Seen some ****e games in my time, but that was quite truly the worst one ever I reckon.
The end justified the means all the same. 3 points on Tuesday and time then to clear out the dead wood.

Agree the quality of football on display yesterday was dire, but how long is the SPL going to allow a playing surface? like the one the Accies have to be continually allowed in top flight football in Scotland. We as a club were getting pelters from all quarters for the state of our pitch a few years ago and the impact it was having on the quality of football being played. The were times yesterday when only good fortune prevented players from being injured due to the pitch,is just coincidence that Accies have won only one game away from home playing on better pitches.

Accies in particular in must take some of the blame by indulging in anti football tactics but yes the pitch was nothing short of horrendous.
