    Evangelos Marinakis

Interesting news coming out from the Red Dogs, that springs up the surprise appointment of Mark Warburton into the lime light. Looks like Fawaz days are finally coming to an end and he has finally gave up his most prized possession of his beloved forest, after the drama that unfolded with previous incoming owner John Jay Moores. Interestingly enough Evangelos was told about the incoming Warburton appointment ahead of his supposedly takeover. The latest Forest appointments might of not been commited by Fawaz after all and instead done by the new incoming owner, who has already made his mark before he has even set foot in the door. http://www.shoot.co.uk/forest-takeov...ing-completed/

Marinakis has just invested $ 150 million + in 5 former Hanjin neo panamax boxships from BNP in a tender, following Hanjin's collapse last year. He may be a bit less flush with cash than he was before and so Forest may not get quite the windfall their fans are hoping for?

He has his work cut out for him running two football clubs and plus he was facing criminal charges in Greece, and was banned from taking an active role in football, as part of his bail conditions. After all that mishap, he later denied the charges and has been not been convicted, leading him to test the waters at Forest again and look at the possibility of wether he would pass the football league owners' and directors test. Fawaz incompetence to not sell, his beloved club to both John Jay Moore's and Marinakis, has continued to rifle up the fan base to a whole new different level. Forest lot! Have got a very long road ahead of them.

Well you can say life isn't dull for Forest fans in recent times.
Despite all this and admittedly Fawaz screwed up big time, I don't think it's fair to lay all the blame at his door.

The players are equally culpable. Only the young lads look like they have their heart in it.
Warburton really has his work cut out for him. This is easily his toughest assignment.

Forest biggest asset at the moment is their youth development, if they can keep sustaining, and keep building, and promote them to the first team, which they are, and with financial struggles being a common issue, they will have to sell a few player's, to help sustain their financials.

Wether Forest stay up or go down this season, Warburton will be tasked to use everything at his disposal, too make sure Forest keeps afloat, and the club is sustainable for the future, which the club has badly needed for quite some time.

For a manager like Warburton, who seems very down to earth and appears not easily fazed, the Florist job seems one he'll enjoy getting his teeth into. I think he will do well!!

Marinakis is set to become the new majority owner of Forest with a yet unnamed partner at the beginning of next season. Fawaz has decided to let go of the reigns and officially hand the documents over at long last.

Marinakis partner has been confirmed as being 'Socrates' no! not the Brazilian legend 'Socrates' it will be none other than 'Socrates Kominakis'

    His background:
Mostly in telecommunications. He has held various top-level roles at different companies in Greece throughout his career.

As well as being CEO of Hellas Telecommunications, Kominakis has previously been commercial director of Vodafone (Greece), marketing manager at Vodafone-Panafon Hellenic Telecommunications and chairman of WIND Hellas Telecommunications, among other positions.

He joined Panafon in 1998 and worked his way up, being promoted to various marketing positions, before being appointed commercial director of Vodafone Greece in 2002.

Before moving into telecommunications he had built up a wealth of experience at other companies, having been marketing manager at Kraft Jacobs Suchard and brand manager at health and beauty giants Procter & Gamble.

Aside from all that, it has been reported that Kominakis has been an executive member of the board of directors at STET Hellas, a director of Crude Carriors Corp and an executive director of Vodafone-Panafon Hellenic Telecommunications company.

When he joined STET Hellas as CEO in 2004, chairman Stylianos Argyros said: "Mr Kominakis brings a wealth of business experience and insight to STET Hellas and we are most pleased to welcome him aboard."

He is also owner of Milos Advisors, a private equity fund which focuses on the turnaround of undermanaged assets in Greece and Europe.

He was born in 1968, he is clearly well educated.

He holds a B.S.c degree in Business Administration from the American college of Greece and obtained his MBA from Edinburgh University.

Kominakis is said to be fluent in English and also able to speak French.
