    Stevie Mallan Jnr

I see Stevie Mallan Jnr has signed for Barnsley in the English Championship on a two year deal. It will get good to see how effective he is in this vast step up first him.

Hey up there, Barnsley fan here and I couldnt help but comment when I saw this thread. I see the St Mirren fans are disappointed to see him go, but most of them are at least giving him good wishes. I say good luck to him as well, he just might need it at Oakwell!

His Dad with the same name scored 94 goals for Queen of the South and his son has clearly been St Mirren's best player for the last few seasons.

He's a cracking wee player and has real potential . At £200,000 you've got a bargain

    Well I/we hope so.
I see he can hit a good free kick and is also left footed isnt he, so Im guessing we are hoping he might be a long term replacement for Connor Hourihane. (who got his big money move to Aston Villa this season)

I'm sure he'll flourish in the English Championship.

Its a tough league Albertz and its getting tougher every season for clubs of our size, especially with Premship flops coming down awash with parachute payments. (isnt that a disgrace by the way, teams getting ridiculous money for being relegated!)
By the way I looked at St Mirren's league position and apparently Mallan did more than most to help them avoid slipping into the relegation play offs ?

Not just the play-offs but automatic relegation. St Mirren never won a league match until 6th December, when Mallan scored a winner in injury time to win at Palmerston vs. Queens. They also signed ten players in the January transfer window and got rid of ten players at the same time and that also helped.
