    Herald article...auditors

just come across a conveniently timed article online from the herald essentially stating that there are serious concerns over our material assets and financial situation. And also we cannot operate as a going concern for much longer. http://www.heraldscotland.com/news/1...oing_concern_/

It's hardly news it was announced in February and discussed on here and other forums , typical west coast journalism to publish it today , hopefully it will backfire and the players will read it and think that their futures depend on the club being in the Premier League and give them an extra will to win at any cost attitude and create a seige mentality and drive on a march back to the SPL .

Posted a couple of times but not regularly. This article is nothing more than trying to sell copies to huns cause they would love us to be in bother.

Main creditors per the accounts are the loan which was repayable in February so obviously has been dealt with given its May and the deferred income relating to a grant received.

Also the qualified opinion (which are given out like smarties) relates to a 250k balance that we are to receive on the basis there wasn't enough audit evidence to substantiate it. **** all to do with going concern. That emphasis of matter is only valid another what 50 days. If we were 50 days from liquidation you'd know about it.

Also of the 1.5m loss 600k of which is depreciation and amortisation both accounting concepts that don't have much real implications for United.

    Lot of ****e.

Let's get right in about Falkirk tonight and have some better stories in the papers tomorrow. FTD

It may be old news but it's still very current and sticking our heads in the sand will not help the situation, like it or not United are in the financial doo too and unless big changes are made in the running of our club we're going bust

Utter p1sh, released just in time for the most important game United face to date. Nothing more than scaremongering!

It has been known for ages that United are operating on a shoestring budget, getting back into the SPL is critical as it will bring more revenue to United moving forward.

I'm sure there are clubs around us who are in the same boat.

Move along, nothing to see here!

I think our financial plight is probably exaggerated plumber. Our cash flow last year would have been positive had we not made 1.3m of repayments on loan. Plus hmrc are one of our minor creditors. The likelihood of us actually going under is small as we still have one of the best revenue streams in Scotland having looked at some other accounts. What is really alarming is quite how ****ing ****e our on field recruitment as been. We spent 3m more on salaries the year we went down compared to teams like Partick thistle who are in the top 6 this season. How bad must the value for money have been on most of our signings

Middle Eastern Sanitary Technician wisely interjected.

    Alts responded.

Middle Eastern Sanitary Technician has long been drawing our attention to the ostrich-like behaviour now suggested by Alts in response to Middle Eastern Sanitary Technician's understandable warnings. Undoubtedly to some, Middle Eastern Sanitary Technician's clarion calls have become a monotonous cry, despite their clear validity. On a general note and not one for Alts to take personally, it is a common trait to assail the messenger where there exists an inability or lack of desire to hear the message.

Getting back up into the SPL is critical. Also I hope the Liverpool/Robertson deal goes through! Every little helps!
