    Tough talking, Robbo

Interesting quotes...fair enough if the players were going completely ott but a bit of a cheer at the end of the season - particularly when we've just clinched survival or players may be saying farewell - is hardly unusual.

Hes quite bloody right the players should have quietly left the field suitably embarrassed by their completely honking efforts all season. We have too many in our fan base and within the club where utter sh1te is acceptable cos "we arent Barcelona"... more attitudes like Robinsons are very welcome.

Not having been there it's hard to comment but if the players had left the field without thanking the fans who made a four hour journey to watch a friendly they would have been absolutely crucified. Will be curious to see reports from those who saw what happened, you wonder if Robbo is picking a fight to help ease the get-tae-buggery conversations coming up next week...

Sorry but if a thank you from a shower of dross makes fans day and upsets them if they dont get it they seriously need to get out more.

Maybe so but such is life. They're definitely in a damned if they do, damned if they don't scenario which is what makes Robinson's reaction - unless they really were milking it - so surprising.

I do hope he thought through what he was saying though because such an approach is not without risk.

The players were not "celebrating"...they acknowledged the travelling fans for the great backing throughout the game. Faddy applauded and walked along the goal line then Lasley followed thouging his training top into the crowd. Griffiths handed over something (gloves?).

I didn't hear the precise words used in questioning Robinson but he was definitely annoyed at the idea of a celebration following a defeat and he suggested that attitude might have played a part in our poor season.

I'm in agreement with Robinson's comments. If things are going to change next season we need to change our attitude and some personnel. I wonder who the senior player was?

I agree with Jwok and Handsome Devil on this one. The whole team came as far as the penalty spot and applauded the fans behind the goal .... AS THEY ALWAYS DO AFTER AN AWAY GAME, WIN OR LOSE. Then Faddy, Keith, Lionel , and Griffiths (a 'keeper' in more ways than one) came round behind the goal line and either talked with or gave kit to individual fans, again as is common practice (particularly if some of them may not be playing for the Well next season) and I thought they all behaved very appropriately. None of it was over the top, none of it was "embarrassing". It's what football players do!!

Frankly, I think Robinson's comments as quoted were ..... unnecessary, and I am beginning to have some reservations about what little I can make out of his 100mph interviews already.

I wasn't at the game today so can't comment on the players "celebrating" at the end of the game. Concerning Robinson's interview, I like his style, i don't know if that will make him a good manager or not, but it could make a few enemies in the dressing room i would think. Obviously the guy doesn't take any s***. Could be some interesting times ahead in the next few weeks.

As with everything in football, it comes down to 'does it work'...when Butcher got Hibs relegated, no one disagreed they had a team of chancers who needed punting in summer but his saying exactly that - in winter - was disastrous.

From the account above of what happened, either Robinson has been annoyed for a while and this was the final straw/he was looking for any excuse to start an argument or he's misjudged it.

If it's the latter it's an error but hardly irredeemable. If it's the former, it's a bold move and we'll see how it turns out in a few months.
