Not a smart move on Queens part. Hopefully this will be a 2ndX1 game.

The mention of the Warriors above has got me thinking if their Weegie - born ex - QOS players Irons (coach) and McManaman (player) would be interested in the Annan job ? - if they are still at Stenny that is !

Queens have another two pre season friendlies lined-up away to Annan Athletic (par for the course almost) & Fleetwood Town, with all open games.

Stenhousemuir @ Ochilview on Saturday, 1st July 2pm
Annan @ Galabank on Tuesday, 4th July 7.30pm
Fleetwood @ Poolfoot Farm Training Complex on Friday, 7th July 3pm

BetFred League Cup groups commence on Saturday, 15th July. Draw on Friday, 2nd June on BT Sports.

These are not games that will get the Dumfries public excited. Come on Queens, give us something to get us motivated to attend next season.

Like many others I don`t care who we play pre-season. I just don`t get the obsession some people seem to have with this. We didn`t play anyone of note pre-season last year and made a great start to the season.

Very true - the best team we met were South Shields (who we beat) but who then went on to have a fabulous season ending up with victory in the FA Vase at Wembley last week. I think the fans are not too worried about the class of the opposition but just like an away game somewhere different and I must admit having been on quite a few they can be a guid day oot with the football becoming secondary but, of course, important to the players as the build up their fitness for the coming season.

Any idea why the Fleetwood match is at their training complex and not their stadium ?
