I remember him playing Ivanhoe on TV, before playing the Saint, Simon Templar.

    RIP Sir Roger

Did you know that Ivanhoe's father was Cedric of Rotherwood?

My favourite memory of Roger Moore was when he was in the Saint and used to raise one eyebrow when he was looking quizzical, My dog has now got this off to a fine tee when he has his chin on the floor.I tell our lass he is doing his simon templar impersonation again.

I also still enjoy putting rubber hoops above peoples heads and going: derderderderdodoo. (young people who havent seen the show think I have finally flipped).

    RIP Roger

Being the Saint and being knighted, does that make him a Knight Templar?

The role that propelled him towards playing James Bond was that of Lord Brett Sinclair.... anyone recall that programme?

His Aston Martin had the reg plate BS1. The plate at the time of filming this programme actually belonged to Billy Smart of the circus family.

I believe there are references to Conisborough in the novel and the council tourism push the link. Nothing against Roger Moore but never rated him as an actor.
