I saw the interview with Corbyn. He said that he had never met with the IRA but had met with Sinn Fein. I guess you could argue that Sinn Fein are the IRA 'political wing' but Corbyn was drawing a distinction between the two. The political wing of the IRA were obviously those who eventually with the labour government of the time (rare credit to Blair from me here!) eventually reached a political agreement that stopped the killing of our people in the bomb attacks.

The previous way of working, positioning the army in Ireland etc, clearly wasn't working. Surely it is better to negotiate and bring about peace? Isn't it, or am I going mad?!

He never tried to bring about peace, all he wanted was complete IRA victory, him claiming any credit for peace in NI is revisionist history:

Religion in football Celtic & Everton are of the same belief. Same as Rangers & Liverpool.
