A Guard Of Honour In Football

I find it amusing that opposition players have to do a 'guard of honour' to the new champions of the premier league. Maybe it's just a way of saying congratulations.

What i find even more funny though is John Terry, in his last game for Chelsea against Sunderland, is substituted on or around the 26th minute, his own team-mates then form a 'guard of honour' for him. Self importance or what?

    No time for the man.
I started a thread many moons ago about the other, mostly ignored side of Terry which shows him to be nothing more than a thug.

So he played his last league game for Chelsea again today.
Another chance to lap it up and who knows, he may come back next season just so he can have another day like this.
Either way he will probably still be squirming his way to the front to lift a trophy for years to come.

Would Chelsea or any of the other bigger clubs do so for a club legend of Bournemouth or Watford or a "smaller" club?

I doubt it very much, the so called lesser side would have just substituted their player, no fuss, but he would have walked off to a standing ovation and having his name chanted.

I've already got that one logged mate.

It's the Monaco grand prix on Sunday so he still could make it onto the podium if he hurries up. He knows Lewis Hamilton after all.

I wouldn't be surprised if he turns up on the Lions tour of New Zealand either.

    Narcissistic tosser.

I can't argue with any of that. Next stop if he ends up retiring will no doubt be a job as a pundit.
